One of Europe’s most prolific darknet market vendors of amphetamines and MDMA (Ecstasy) was put out of business last Weds, Jun 28, as Dutch police arrested a 37-year-old man suspected of being the mastermind behind the Mysteryland vendor operation. The man was arrested at home in the Oss region of Netherlands where police found 4,000 EUR in cash, a firearm, 55 liters of amphetamine oil, and one kilogram of amphetamines.

An investigation into the vendor had long been underway in Germany, where the arrested suspect – along with several accomplices – were said to be transporting the drugs to ship using the country’s postal facilities. The suspect, along with another Dutch man, transported packaged orders to be sent to customers worldwide on a bi-weekly basis.

Mysteryland’s last thread posted to their dedicated subdread, written in Aug 2022.

According to investigators, Mysteryland shipped over 17,000 packages of drugs during the course of their vendor career, which appears to extend back at least four years. The total quantities of drugs shipped include 740 kg of amphetamines, 19 kg of MDMA, 7 kg of methamphetamine, and 40,000 MDMA tablets, netting them around 950,000 EUR in total sales.

Although the arrested suspect was not mentioned by name, two of his arrested co-conspirators are said to include a 78-year-old man who helped transport the drugs and a 58-year-old man who resided at a house presumably used to store drugs. Two other suspects were additionally arrested in Germany.

As a vendor, Mysteryland operated on almost every major darknet market in the final days of their career, including ASAP, Bohemia, Abacus, Vice City, Kerberos, and Tor2Door, even having a dedicated subdread on the Dread forum. The vendor was “limited” on AlphaBay in May 2022 – effectively banned from conducting sales – due to having a low overall feedback score of 64%. While many repeat customers reported having no problems with Mysteryland’s products or service on Dread, the vendor had long been accused of selected scamming and failing to rectify customer complaints.
